Calcura exists because most calculator websites answer the wrong question. They give you a number and hide the method, which is fine until the method does not match your situation — and you have no way to tell.
What we do differently
- The formula is on the page. Every calculator states the equation it uses, in plain notation, so you can verify it against a textbook or your own spreadsheet.
- A worked example with real numbers. Not a definition of the variables — an actual calculation you can follow.
- The limits are stated. Where a method breaks down, we say so. A BMI reading is not a diagnosis, a retirement projection is not a forecast, and a mortgage estimate is not a Loan Estimate.
- Nothing is collected. Every calculation runs in your browser. We never see the numbers you type.
How the calculators are built
Each tool implements the standard published formula for its field: Mifflin–St Jeor for resting metabolic rate, the standard amortization equation for loans, the US Navy circumference method for body fat, WHO thresholds for BMI. Where competing methods exist, we show more than one and explain the difference rather than picking silently.
How the site is funded
Advertising, and nothing else. There is no paid tier, no email capture, no affiliate steering toward particular lenders or products, and no data sold to anyone. Ad slots are placed so that they never sit between you and your answer.
Corrections
